Noviqo builds AI-powered communication tools for businesses. This page explains how artificial intelligence works within our Services, what AI can and cannot do, and what responsibilities our customers have when deploying AI assistants.

1. What Noviqo AI Assistants Are

Noviqo assistants are software-based AI systems, not human beings. They use large language models (LLMs) and voice synthesis technology to understand and respond to natural language in real time, over phone calls, web chat, and other channels.

Our assistants are designed to handle common business communication tasks, such as answering questions, collecting contact information, scheduling appointments, and routing inquiries, based on the information a business provides about itself.

2. AI Is Not a Human

Noviqo assistants are AI systems. They may sound natural and conversational, but they are not human employees, agents, or representatives. They do not have personal opinions, emotions, genuine intentions, or independent judgment beyond their programming and configuration.

Customers are responsible for configuring their assistants and associated customer-facing communications to disclose AI involvement as required by applicable laws, regulations, platform terms, and ethical standards in their jurisdiction and industry.

In many jurisdictions, businesses are required by law to disclose that a caller or user is interacting with an AI system rather than a human. Noviqo customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with these obligations.

3. How Our AI Works

Our assistants are powered by large language models provided by third-party AI infrastructure providers. The assistant's behavior is shaped by:

  • System prompts and instructions configured by Noviqo and by the individual customer.
  • Business information provided by the customer, including service descriptions, pricing, hours, staff, and policies.
  • Conversation context from the current interaction.
  • Model capabilities and limitations of the underlying LLM.

Assistants do not have access to real-time internet searches, the customer's internal databases, or live inventory and availability systems unless explicitly integrated.

4. AI Limitations

AI language models can and do produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate outputs. Our assistants may:

  • Misunderstand questions, accents, background noise, or ambiguous phrasing.
  • Provide outdated information if the customer's business information has not been updated.
  • Fail to detect or appropriately handle sarcasm, distress, urgency, or complex multi-part requests.
  • Make errors in scheduling, quoting prices, describing services, or conveying policies.
  • Fail to escalate situations that require human judgment.

Noviqo assistants are designed to support and augment business communication, not to replace qualified human judgment for sensitive, complex, regulated, urgent, or high-stakes interactions.

5. Call Recording and Transcription

Depending on a customer's configuration, calls handled by Noviqo assistants may be recorded and transcribed using automated speech recognition. Transcripts may be used to generate AI summaries and analytics.

Noviqo customers are responsible for complying with all applicable call recording laws in their jurisdiction. Many jurisdictions require all-party consent to record calls. Customers must provide appropriate notice to callers before recording begins.

Transcripts and summaries are AI-generated and may contain errors. They should not be relied upon as verbatim records for legal, medical, financial, or other regulated purposes without human review.

6. AI-Generated Content Accuracy

Information provided by our AI assistants reflects the information the business has configured in the system. Noviqo does not independently verify the accuracy of business information provided by customers.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the information their assistant communicates to callers and users is accurate, current, complete, and lawful. If business information changes (such as hours, pricing, services, or staff), the customer must update their assistant's configuration accordingly.

Callers and users should independently verify important information, such as appointment times, prices, service availability, or eligibility requirements, with the business before relying on it.

7. Emergency Situations

Noviqo assistants are not designed to handle emergency situations. If a caller indicates an emergency (such as a medical crisis, threat of violence, or immediate danger), the assistant may attempt to advise the caller to contact emergency services, but this detection and response is not guaranteed.

Noviqo assistants must not be used as the sole or primary means of receiving or routing emergency communications. Customers must maintain alternative emergency communication paths and ensure callers can reach emergency services when needed.

8. Third-Party AI Providers

Noviqo uses third-party AI model providers to power our assistants. These providers process interaction data to generate responses. We select providers that meet our standards for data security and privacy, and we include appropriate contractual protections in our agreements with them.

Our Privacy Policy describes how data is handled and shared with AI providers and other subprocessors.

9. Customer Responsibilities

Businesses that deploy Noviqo AI assistants are responsible for:

  • Disclosing to callers and users that they are interacting with an AI assistant, as required by applicable law and ethical practice.
  • Disclosing call recording where required by law.
  • Providing accurate business information and keeping it up to date.
  • Configuring appropriate escalation paths to human staff for sensitive or complex situations.
  • Monitoring assistant performance and correcting issues promptly.
  • Not using AI assistants for regulated professional services (medical advice, legal counsel, financial advice) without appropriate human oversight.
  • Complying with all applicable laws, including consumer protection, privacy, call recording, telemarketing, and AI-specific regulations.

10. Ongoing Development

AI technology is evolving rapidly. We continuously work to improve the accuracy, safety, reliability, and transparency of our assistants. We may update our AI models, prompts, workflows, safety measures, and disclosure practices as technology and regulations evolve.
